This year, Upstate Street Heart has had the privilege of standing beside individuals and families during some of their hardest moments. Month after month we have given diapers to parents doing their best with what they had. We were able to help a mother keep her home by covering emergency rent, filled refrigerators for families facing illness, and paid for urgent car repairs so daily life didn’t fall apart. We provided clothing, shoes, beds, socks, and countless essentials that brought comfort and dignity back into households. We helped children get registered for school, sat with families through hospital and doctor visits, offered rides to pharmacies, delivered needed medications, and even stepped in for pet care when a beloved animal was part of a family’s stability. We purchased car seats and helped children catch up on vaccination appointments when access was out of reach. And beyond the physical support, we showed up emotionally—spending intentional one-on-one Connection Days with youth, listening to their stories, noticing their needs, and pouring encouragement into their lives. Every act of service, big or small, was done with love, compassion, and the belief that no one should have to struggle alone.
